چکیده
Transient absorption spectroscopy is one the most popular methods to study photochemistry and photophysics. This technique allows observation of dynamics in electronic excited states after photoexcitation over a wide range timescales, from femtosecond millisecond timescales. The probed relaxation involve multiple channels competition, such as internal conversion, intersystem crossing, fluorescence, energy transfer, electron proton-coupled chemical reactions. aim this chapter provide general background discuss state-of-the-art experimental techniques for transient measurements. will be illustrated by recent applications photoinduced processes inorganic systems including molecular hybrid systems, particular toward renewable applications. Desirable developments, no means exhaustive, then discussed sustain future research.

Attosecond Transient Absorption Spectroscopy
Motion in the microcosm unfolds via the formation of wavepackets, resulting from a coherent superposition of quantum states. Pioneered by A. H. Zewail, nuclear motion in (bio-)molecules as well as the formation and rupture of chemical bonds have been accessed extensively by femtosecond (1 fs = 10 seconds) pump-probe spectroscopy. For these outstanding experiments, A. H. Zewail was awarded the N...

Time-resolved infrared spectroscopy has been proven to be a powerful tool for investigating the structure, dynamics and reactivity of electronically-excited states of inorganic molecules. As applications drive the production of ever more complex molecules however, experimental tools that can deliver more detailed spectroscopic information, or separate multiple contributions to complex signals w...

Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy is a powerful technique to study fast photo-induced processes, such as electron, proton and energy transfer, isomerization and molecular dynamics, in a diverse range of samples, including solid state materials and proteins. Many such experiments suffer from signal distortion by scattered excitation light, in particular close to the excitation (pump) f...
متن کاملTransient absorption spectroscopy detection of sensitized delayed fluorescence in chiral benzophenone/naphthalene systems
Transient absorption spectroscopy has proven to be a powerful tool to investigate the formation and decay of excited singlet states upon triplet-triplet annihilation, following T-T energy transfer from a selectively excited sensitizer. Thus, upon selective excitation of benzophenone (BZP) by laser flash photolysis (LFP) at λ = 355 nm in the presence of naphthalene (NPT), a negative band centred...
متن کاملTransient x-ray absorption spectroscopy of hydrated halogen atom.
Time-resolved x-ray absorption spectroscopy has been used to observe the transient species generated by one-photon detachment of an electron from aqueous bromide. The K-edge spectrum of the short-lived Br(0) atom exhibits a resonant 1s-4p transition that is absent for the Br(-) precursor. The strong 1s-4p resonance suggests that there is very little charge transfer from the solvent to the open-...
